One of the reasons why I love being a Thomasian is the cornucopia of activities, extracurriculars, and festivities we get exposed to every year.
As part of our Neo-centennial celebration, the whole Thomasian community dedicated a day to commemorate its rich past. Everyone (well, almost everyone) wore Filipinianas, Kalesas were roaming around, even the guards dressed up as the guardia civil! It was as if the whole campus entered a time machine and teleported back to the 1600s.
Even though our Maria Clara dresses were making us feel itchy and uncomfortable already (especially during the time I walked alone in P. Noval to go back to my dorm.. LOL at the random guy who shouted “Ang mga kwento ni Lola Basyang: Maria Clara!” though I couldn’t really tell if he was relating me to Basyang or the latter haha) we still tried our best to stay in our costumes until the end of the parade. It was, overall, an epic day.
